The Life I Dream Of
Throughout my life I have had this vivid imagination, and as I got older I used this imagination to draft up an image of what I wanted my life to be like. Who I wanted to be. What was to come. Now as I have aged the plan has taken on different forms and has become more realistic (in that I RARELY dream about being a nomadic rodeo clown when I grow up anymore...).
There are certain things that I know will happen and need to happen:
I will be THE GREATEST FATHER to multiple children.
I will be an upstanding person in the community, who is involved in many ways.
I will have an extensive library.
I will have a hammock perch.
Those things are a given and now I am starting to hone in on a more solidified vision. As traveling is really starting to take a hold on my life I have this overwhelming desire to go out and EXPERIENCE life. Now I was raving about living out of state... however, as Jared gets older I want to be around to witness him really grow and develop. Watching his football games, helping him learn to drive, camping, etc. I want to be there more than ever before. So with that in mind, I think that I am going to stay grounded for a bit longer. With that being said, I have been thinking about converting a trailer with a handful of people to make a "mock-RV" of sorts that I can take out into the world. Using it once or twice a year (as I have created a rule for myself that I must take at least one big trip a year). From that point on I envision myself as becoming a versatile man in my old age. I jokingly say that I want to have the most intriguing rocking chair talk around. Being able to captivate my grand-babies with the stories of old, sharing my life experiences as my children shake their heads, with a smile, because they have heard it all before! I would like to be well versed in many trades, a handy man, a creative genius, and someone with worthwhile hobbies. A person that has a strong position in the community with donations, volunteer work, and presence in the town sports. That town is hopefully a small town roughly 45 minutes outside of a big city. The town has most of the things I need, but a nice back roads drive could be in order to resupply. I can see rolling hills, 3-10 acres to my name, a hand build sun room, large office space for my various workings, a cow named toby who has an open pasture with apple trees, an outdoor shower, mountains at my back, an tall grass for the wind to dance with. Cowboy boots and hat on a rack by the door. Hobby farm and chicken coop just for fun. A MRS!!!!! Pretty as can be that I acknowledge every single day. A nice truck to take into town with the farm dog named Tex. Coming home to arms full of kiddos eager to meet me at the door. We have invention creation days, we have Dad days where we eat sweets and jump on the bed, we play catch and train for sports, Harry Potter readings at night by the fire, fun facts at the dinner table, and family exploration Sundays! Wow.. this is my dream and I am chasing towards it as fast as I can. Anyone know of a place?!
