Millennial Asparations

In this day and age it seems that everyone is always moving at 100miles a minute. Over-active minds and bodies never wanting to settle down. It seems as if everyone wants to conquer the world every day but no one knows specifically how to do it. Instant gratification is dominant in our mindsets. I fit right in with this mindset. It is hard for me to see myself sitting still with the "same-old" every day. As I talk about frequently there are so many things that I want to do, places I want to see, and job experiences I want to take in. Whatever happened to taking on a trade and working in that field loyally for a lifetime. The world is changing. Everyone wants to absorb as much as possible but the first steps into making this a reality is always hard. People don't want to feel as thought their time is being wasted, but they waste their time waiting on finding the perfect calling.

Dreamers have to be careful. Waiting on the right thing and being idle are different things entirely. Even if you are waiting and searching for your calling in life, be sure to continue to explore and take on new opportunities in the meantime. Who knows.... maybe those experiences and the memories made in the search will end up guiding your hand. Informing it. So give job experiences a chance, give people a chance, and so on.

I guess in this mini-rant, all that I am stressing is that you should not waste away trying to find the perfect fit. Your calling. Search for it while doing. Do not waste away trying to find it. Find it along the way. Be proactive.

I scare myself at times, how restless I am. in wanting to explore and try out new things. You can make your dream out of your current situation, it just may take a new perspective or some ideal lighting.

Well, it has happened. I have officially joined the crossfit cult. My entrance into the movement has been a unique and exciting experience. Before I entertain you with the epic tale that is my crossfit experience, I need to give you some background. I was a college football player and I loved to compete. Working out and training has been a large part of my life and after college I was finding that workouts were not the same. I did not find the same satisfaction, motivation, results, or enjoyment in carrying out my SOLO-flex workouts. A large amount of my drive comes from competing with those around me and the community feel- of training as a team. The Tides of Change

Every year, around the holiday season, everyone plans and sets goals for themselves to be a better version of themselves. To spend the next year growing and honing in on different goals/achievements. Often times trying to create new habits or living styles. Ultimately a great deal of these resolutions fail, because the discipline is not there, or maybe someone shot too far out. Making an unrealistic goal for themselves. If you never have exercised in your life do not say that your goal is to workout 7 days a week. That is unrealistic. Rather, I say take these changes one step at a time. Make them measurable. Give yourself check in points. 1 month, 2 months, 3 months, 6 months, 12 months, etc. Everyone wants to grow and evolve. However, everyone likes to keep things familiar or make excuses why they can't achieve their goals as an attempt to rationalize. With all of this in mind I have really been thinking on what this last year presented me with and who I want to become in 2018...

Deep Thought

I can feel the tides of change coming to me. There are opportunities that are presenting themselves to me. Within this year alone I have flown on a plane and traveled more (in terms of trips/year) than any other time in my life. I have lived out of state for a summer, traveled to Chicago a handful of times, lived in Texas for 6 weeks, spent 9 days in Amsterdam (visiting Europe for the first time), traveled to Kansas City for 2 weeks, and I am currently gearing up to travel for an ENTIRE summer! There is also some potential for me to live in Washington for 3 weeks (while working), as well as, a chance at farming in Thailand for 2 weeks. There are so many opportunities in life and I want to take hold and grasp as many as I can while I am given this chance. With all of that being said, there is also a great strain in terms of finances for these trips.... while also paying a massive amount of bills at home.
